Red Face V Pale Face

Hey guys, of course, its Zach here again šŸ™‚

So In this post, I want to find out why some people have a red face and others a pale face. I will talk about one of my symptoms, then via research, I am posting my findings further in this post.

we can discuss this in the comments below or over at my Facebook page would love to see what others think about this. And as ever if you suffer from a red face read my cure story over here or go here to see what I used.

So I was sitting with one of my friends today and Iā€™m just looking at him thinking why are you so dam pale,???? I have asked the question to myself before….

BUT….

This guy Roy has the palest skin ever, I mean he looks dead his so pale. If his sunburnt his still pale, if he’s embarrassed his still pale, in ANY situation the guy is just as white as a sheet he NEVER has a red face.

Why is this?

I have had many tests to get down to the root cause of my blushing, one diagnosis was that my sympathetic nervous system is out of whack and my whole body runs at a higher temperature. I have come to the conclusion that makes sense, as my whole head feels super hot from the inside when Iā€™m having an intense blush. I also get super sweaty hands, armpits, chest and back.

In fact, the intense sweating is another thing I want to discuss, as I believe it goes hand in hand with the flushed face we all suffer from. That condition is called Hyperhidrosis, as I said I want to discuss that in another post so look out for that as Iā€™m sure itā€™s all connected.

So apart from my friend Roy another mate of mine has ginger hair and again he NEVER has a red face either, Itā€™s simply not fair šŸ™ I think Iā€™m going to change my name to Roy and dye my hair ginger that should solve the problem lol.

I am sure most of us who are suffering from this horrible red face condition, have had lots of tests and will kind of know the cause of their flushed face. But I will discuss a couple of causes as to why we have a red face. And also we shall discuss why some people have a completely pale face.

WHAT CAUSES A RED FACE

red face

We could go on all day about the causes of a red face, in fact, thatā€™s what this blog is about after all :-)I will just discuss the most common reasons as to why we suffer from a flushed face. Of course, people who consider themselves normal will suffer reactions to, but not to the degree we fellow red face sufferers get. If you want to read about some natural blushing cures click here.

SPICY FOODS

red face

This is an obvious one, but consuming hot curries, peppers, spices, can cause facial flushing. Eating any type of spicy food, will raise your body temperature and increase blood flow particularly to the face causing you to flush.

EMOTIONAL TRIGGERS

So extreme emotions such as stress, being embarrassed, anxious, angry, crying these emotions cause a flushed face, neck and ears.

ROSACEA

This is another skin condition I want to discuss, but if you are not familiar with Rosacea it is a skin condition causing pretty much a constant state of redness in the face and neck. Sufferers not only have a red face but have inflamed spider-like veins in their cheeks. Swelling in the facial redness and acne-like sores are all common with this condition, hot temperatures and spicy foods can make the condition worse.

MORE COMMON CAUSES

Other more common causes that cause a red face or flushed face, are fevers, drinking alcohol, menopause, sunburn, headaches, allergies, skin infections just to name a few.

WHAT CAUSES A PALE FACE

Ok so we get to what really I think was the purpose of me writing this blog post, then I thought to myself hang on having a pale face is normal isnā€™t it? Whereas having a red face or flushed face isnā€™t.

But maybe itā€™s not normal to be so pale you look like no blood exists in your body like my friend Roy šŸ™‚

So it turns out that having a really pale face is not quite the norm either, so a pale face known as pale complexion or pallor is an abnormal paleness

of the skin compared with normal skin colour. This paleness MAY be caused by reduced blood flow or oxygen and also a reduced amount of red blood cells.

ANEMIA A CAUSE OF PALENESS

Anaemia is a condition where your body does not produce enough red blood cells and is the most common cause of pale skin. You can have acute Anemia which is rapid blood loss from a trauma such as an accident or surgery. And Chronic Anemia can be caused by a lack of iron, vitamin B-12 or folate in your diet.

Or simply my friend Roy could suffer from a few factors causing his skin to be paler than usual such as his skin thickness, the amount of blood flowing to his face and the amount of melanin in the skin. Without testing, I wouldnā€™t know why my mate Roy is so pale, but I reckon he just has thicker skin on his face and the blood vessels are not so close to the surface.

WHY ARE REDHEADS PALE

red face

So why do people with red hair have a pale face rather than a red face?

Having a nice head of red hair effects 1 – 2 % of the population and this colouring is due to a mutation in the MC1R gene and this fails to produce sun protective, skin darkening eumelanin which in turn is the cause of people with red hair, freckles and paler than normal skin. They also suffer more from skin cancer.

So there we have it guys this was just a fun post inspired by my friend Roy as to why he has a pale face and we have a red face. I hope it provides a brief insight into this condition as usual leave me a comment here or over on our Facebook page.
