How To Stop Blushing Using Intense Pulsed Light Treatment IPL.
Hey guys Zach here 🙂
So I wanted to tell you another story on one of the most bizarre treatments and also the most painful,it’s kind of funny when I look back on this but actually I think the treatment worked for a while to reduce my blushing.
But it literally burnt half my face off 🙁
I remember at the time I was so desperate to find a cure for my blushing, I had already been trying to defeat this awful condition for many years and tried so many things.
We talked about this before here, but I had tried medication, herbal, creams, makeup, potions, tests, scans, therapy etc etc
So I was sitting at home with the wife, after trying to get over an horrific red attack where I had just gone bright red standing in a queue in sainsburys.
The cashier asked me if I had a good holiday to which I replied what? well, you’re a lovely colour love, so of course, I started burning up, turned around and the whole queue seemed to be staring at my damn face!!
Anyhow…..
I was searching for more ways to help with my flushing when I saw this….
AMAZING INTENSE PULSED LIGHT TREATMENT IPL CURES FACIAL BLUSHING FOREVER
WHAT!!!!!!!!!
I read the testimonials so many people wanted to learn how to stop blushing, they had IPL ( Intense Pulsed Light treatment) and it had been a MASSIVE success for them.
positive testimonial after testimonial
It was at a clinic in Harley Street London to….
I have to do this so I scrolled down the page three sessions £3000, Christ sweat breaking out how am I going to afford this??
Err darling I need this therapy it will cure me but its £3000, ok sweetheart if you feel it will work do it.
GREAT!!!!!!
I love you darling 🙂 insert cringe
So whats the deal with Intense Pulsed Light treatment IPL anyway?
In a nutshell IPL therapy can help as it shrinks the blood vessels in the face so then they are not so close to the surface.
I think it’s used more for people with Rosacea but also people like us who suffer with severe facial blushing. You have to wear protective eye wear, and it can be uncomfortable it feels like having elastic bands flicked on your face.
I was so excited, I had to lump about three grand on my credit card but could this be it the cure for my blushing?
So first I had to go to Harley street London for a consultation
Harley Street London a street noted since the 19th century for its large number of private medical specialists and surgeons and I was going to be treated there 🙂
So the consultation went well the treatment was discussed they could shrink the blood vessels and it would take at least three sessions
Oh and the therapist was in VERY good shape to 🙂
I was to travel back up to London for my very first Intense Pulsed Light Treatment IPL in a week’s time, I was so excited but nervous at the same time. I mean could I have
found a way on how to stop blushing could this help?
So my appointment came, it was a lovely hot day up in London so I took the opportunity to travel up with the wife we had a morning looking around Trafalgar Square, Queen’s guards, Buckingham palace then it was time for Harley Street and the Intense Pulsed Light Treatment IPL.
So I was at the clinic, my appointment time came and I was talked through what would happen during the IPL treatment and led to lay down in the IPL chair.
🙂
Had to wear these special goggles, had special gel applied then the treatment began
SHIT!!!!!!
What was that I flinched, owwwww I said it was like someone flicking elastic bands at my face close up
SUCK IT UP MAN OR MOUSE I CAN DO THIS
As the treatment went on I started to bear it a little more but to be honest could not wait until it was over and I could look in the mirror and stare back at my lovely pale face thank you IPL treatment. 🙂
When the first session of the Intense Pulsed Light Treatment IPL was finished Aloe Vera cream was applied to my face, and I was also given a tube to take home and apply as needed.
Everything was great I got home looked in the mirror and I swear my face looked different already, I simply could not wait until session two.
So session two was booked and I found myself back up to Harley street for session two of my IPL treatment in the next three months, sightseeing again weather good
totally relaxed although I was on my own this time.
Same as before goggles on laid back in chair…..
THWACK!!!!!!!!
SHIT!!!!!!
OWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!
Flinching what’s that I said to the therapist it hurts, oh don’t worry we have to up the intensity a little session by session.
I dig my finger tips into the side of the chair gripping tightly with EVERY zap Christ this really hurts it’s on another level compared to the first session im thinking. IT feels like red hot giant elastic bands being flicked into my face at close range.
STOP STOP please stop my brain is screaming but my lips don’t move, eventually, the torture is over, she spreads the Aloe Vera gel over my face and books me in for my next session thank you I say.
BUT I can feel something is not right, I start walking down the corridor to exit the clinic. I notice EVERYONE is stopping to stare at me they try to make it not obvious but they are staring at me.
I take a quick look at a mirror and shock horror I look nothing like last time, I look like a burns victim I just want to run and hide they are all looking at me.
I run along Harley Street hurrying to catch my train, slapping on the Aloe Vera it’s cooling down thank god for that. I make the train its empty brilliant check the mirror looks like I’ve caught the sun BIG time.
Train stops and all these commuters jump on its absolutely packed, a guy sits next to me takes one look and says you alright mate, been on holiday?
My mind screams, you know what I had enough of this I tell the guy no I’ve had an operation ok!!!!! with that the train lurches and my tube of Aloe Vera go rolling down the train, I try to grab it fall out my chair rolling on the floor.
Someone grabs it and throws it back to me, and I sit back in my chair applying more Aloe Vera look up and EVERYONE in that carriage is staring at me.
What an ordeal
So I make it back to my home platform, but the ordeal is not over yet. I am trying to get home quick without much more drama when I hear this loud horn blasting at me oh god it’s a guy from work.
He shouts wanna lift I say Nah it’s ok go on get in he says….
as soon as I get in he says what has happened to your face? ah, its nothing Jake just sensitive to this moisturiser I used….
A few days go by and my face on both cheeks look like I’m a burns victim it was truly horrific, I called the clinic in Harley Street and asked for a refund and for the IPL treatment to be cancelled.
In hindsight I should of sued I believe the operator chose a setting that was far to high it should not have burnt my face like that.
It did work though I certainly looked less red it didn’t last forever, each to their own but I would NEVER choose to do IPL treatment for blushing again.
