Zach here just a thought
If you have been reading my blog here we have covered MANY different reasons why you may suffer from a red face. I used to think the reason for blushing was due to having an overactive sympathetic nervous system, but the doctor sent me for scans and tests but all came back negative. Maybe just maybe you have an overactive sympathetic nervous system causing you to blush, so read on and let’s try to get to the bottom of it.
The Nervous System An overview
So humans, as we know, can and do suffer from different amounts of stress, some of us can soak it up well others not so well. The human body has defences to help us cope with high levels of stress, we have a nervous system that will send the body signals to help cope.
The human nervous system is made up of two parts, the central nervous system and the peripheral nervous system. The central nervous system is the biggest part of the nervous system and includes the brain and spinal cord. The peripheral nervous system consists of EVRY other nervous structure.
The autonomic nervous system is a part of the peripheral nervous system and it works by keeping the body functioning normally. The autonomic nervous system keeps you alive when you are asleep or say if you are knocked unconscious. It’s kind of your life support machine.
The autonomic nervous system also has two parts the sympathetic nervous system and the parasympathetic nervous system. These are the two nervous systems that are responsible for helping us deal with stress. I think I had blood tests to determine this, plus a scan where I was injected with dye proved that my nervous system was ok.
The sympathetic nervous system and stress
The sympathetic nervous system is commonly known as the fight or flight nervous system, as it prepares the body to either face up to the danger confronting it or to run from it. Blood is diverted away from the internal organs and into muscles legs and arms, face etc. The same effects happen when you are exercising or suffering from stress.
So the reason why you may end up with a red face when the sympathetic nervous system is under attack is, that the muscles that cause the dilation and constricting blood vessels are part of the sympathetic nervous system. So in the face, blood vessels in the cheeks are wider and closer to the surface than in any other part of the body, so a red face can happen easily in this area.
So imagine if you have an overactive sympathetic nervous system. you will tend to suffer from more intense blushing than other so-called normal people.
HOW DO I KNOW I HAVE AN OVERACTIVE SYMPATHETIC NERVOUS SYSTEM
If we find ourselves under constant stress and in a constant fight or flight mode, our sympathetic nervous system will probably become overloaded and symptoms in our bodies will become more noticeable. We may notice that….
We have increased anxiety
we are restless
we can’t sleep
we are overly nervous
we get palpitations
we cannot relax
we get frequent red face attacks
we sweat
we have a lower sex drive
we suffer from more indigestion/digestion
These are just to name a few it’s an imbalance in your body and it needs to be levelled out
HOW DO I TREAT AN OVERACTIVE SYMPATHETIC NERVOUS SYSTEM
Although my tests proved negative I still believe I had an overactive sympathetic nervous system, and as you read around my blog you will find I cured my red face by up to 90% read about it here.
Plus there are many posts here about natural cures, creams, hypnotherapy and even surgery. I believe the hypnosis sessions I had to rewire my brain and the panic away product I use helped me learn to cope with anxiety and panic attacks.
And as a result, I believe it reset my sympathetic nervous system back to normal.
I will be writing about dietary changes, exercise and lifestyle changes also links below.
